Become the Best Version of Your Independent Self!

Friday, February 21 - 8:30 - 9:30 am - During this high-energy keynote presentation, Michael McCormick and Taylor Dobbie of Insurance Soup will talk sales, marketing, social media and more!

Michael McCormick and Taylor Dobbie are former award and trip winning captive and independent insurance agents that decided after an uphill battle with some carriers and vendors that a revolution in our business was necessary.

With captive carriers keeping their Agency force hypnotized by their Kool Aid cultures and independent agents left to fend for themselves and figure the industry out basically on their own, Michael and Taylor envisioned a community where the entire industry could get together to talk about the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between.

On December 28th2015, Insurance Soup was born out of necessity to bring transparency and open dialogue to an industry that many have long claimed to be “old, male, pale, and stale” and just four years later they boast an army of 30,000 Agents and Brokers all sharing what works and does not work in our field.

While they could not do anything about being male and pale, the boys have made it their mission to make the industry anything but old or stale.

Constantly pushing the envelope with their products and services, the boys have won industry awards for their innovation around marketing and technology. They have the top mastermind in the industry for lead generation, a fantastic automation program, chatbots that are up for national awards, and are partners in life insurance technology Back9 and in continuing education program SoupCE, a partnership with WebCE.

Their crowning achievement though has been in the cultivation of a new way of doing things in our industry, Career Insurance Agents.

Career Insurance Agents is an independent agent opportunity that provides all the things that are on the captive agents wish list – 200+ carriers, higher commissions and overrides, better bonuses, freedom, little compliance, book ownership…And marries it to all the things that most captive agents love – training, comradery, community, and more…It is the first and only hybrid model of it’s kind and where the dudes feel their trend setting ways will lead the industry next.

If there is something new and interesting going on in the industry there is a good chance Michael and Taylor are already involved in it whether it in a consultative role, partnership, or promotionally.

The Head of Insurance for Facebook and his team work regularly with Michael and Taylor to understand the industry, trends in advertising, learning industry direction, jargon, and more.

Fortunately for the industry; Taylor and Michael are young, full of energy, full of ideas, and have proven to be highly successful in guiding many Agents and Agencies to become the best versions of themselves.
